You are invited to the umpteenth annual -
M-DAY VOLLEYBALL PICNIC
SUNDAY, MAY 24Th, 2009, 1pm - Dusk
(Rain or Shine / Hot or Cold)
WOOD STREET PARK, PALATINE, ILLINOIS- Adjacent to the Palatine Park District/ Police Department. We set-up north of the Building and tennis courts, East of the track and football field.
At the corner of Northwest Highway and Wood Street, turn West. At this intersection there is an Casey's Automotive on the Northwest corner and an Arby's directly across from Wood Street. The Park/Police Building is on the North side.
There will be lots of GRASS VOLLEYBALL. Bring what you need to enjoy the day (chair, table, food, snacks, awnings, tents, chair, drink, bug goo, chair, paper products...). There are two sand courts and two tennis courts nearby to use. Bring your Boccie, Golf Toss, Softball equipment and other outdoor sports gear, and start a game! Did I suggest you bring a chair?A grill will be available to cook your OWN DARN food.
Invite a few friends (but not everyone). No need to RSVP, see you there.
Your hosts (Stooges)- Orest, Steve and Paul
P.S. Many thanks to all the friends who pitch in to make the day such fun.
pauldevolpi@netzero.net
On picnic day only, call for a picnic update.
(Note- All courts are challenge courts, form a team and then challenge a court or team. Winners keep the court, losers walk. To avoid misunderstandings, the volleyball courts are arranged from closest to the sand courts westward. The courts closest to the sand are more open, social type play. The farther West, the higher the level of competition, with stricter rules. Choose carefully, and please do not be offended if it suggested you go to a different court for you own safety and to allow for the different level of players and competition.)
